AutumnMeet 2005: AutumnMeet Workshops
Posted on Oct 24, 2005 - 08:07 PM by Dianne

Gatherings An interesting and exciting line-up!

Healing Rhythms Presented by Kristin Madden
For millennia, humans have used rhythm for communication, celebration, ritual, and healing. Healing rhythms create a non-verbal energy that guides our bodies, minds, and spirits back into balance. And they are just plain fun! In this workshop, Kristin will introduce you to the shamanic practice of rhythmic healing, encouraging you to develop a personal relationship with the drum and rattle. Join us for a fully hands-on experience. Learn to use rhythm to create sacred space, explore the otherworlds, connect with spirit allies, and effect healing for yourself and others.

Deathwalking Presented by Kristin Madden
Throughout time and across the globe, communities have looked to their shamans to guide both living and departed through the death process and beyond. Join us for a first-hand look at what happens when the physical body dies and the spirit moves into the other worlds. Listen to the stories of psychopompic journeys. Expect to examine your own beliefs and discuss rites of passage that will truly touch your soul.

Finding your Inner Muse Presented by Kristin Madden
Do you believe you are creative? Does your creativity manifest in myriad or unique ways? Do you sometimes need some help breaking through blocks? If you ever wanted to hear the voice of your Muse more clearly, join us for a fully interactive workshop designed to jump start your creative process and get those wonderful juices flowing. Be prepared to explore your own beliefs and take a short inspirational walk.

Empowering Pagan Kids and their Families Presented by Kristin Madden
Discussion group on practical ways to connect pagan youth to pagan peers and other support groups, empower them to live with honor and integrity as pagans, and handle the challenges life can throw at you with grace.

Magical Kids Presented by Kristin Madden
Our children enter this world possessed of great magical abilities and deep connections to the world of spirit. All we need do is support and encourage these innate talents and pagan young people will not lose them as they grow up, like too many people do. Join us to explore these abilities and the many ways we can encourage their development. Bring your parents or your kids and be ready to partner up to play psychic games.

Survivors of Incest Anonymous Presented by Jean & Kate Davis
A 12-step meeting conducted by survivors for discussion of issues and the 12 steps to recovery and support. Materials provided by the National Organization.

Energy and Tai Chi Presented by Elvenwolfe
Allow the energy to flow as we move to the Tai Chi forms. It will awaken the spirit within and be a great way to start the day.

Living in the Moment Presented by Elvenwolfe
The moment is here as we walk our path throughout each day. To feel what is right, to know where to step is the ideal. How can you know, how can you see? It is in this moment as easily as you breath stepping across the vail into this knowing. It can also be the hardest thing that you have ever done. Live in the Magical Moment.

Drumming Magik! Presented by Nighthawk
A longtime member of the Phoenixphyre Phamily in Florida, NightHawk comes to play and teach a style of drumming that seems to bring FUN back into drumming. Drumming Magik!!!!!!! To us there is nothing like taking a group all together making music and magik around the fire. Learn how to walk into a drum circle at any time and be able to find your spot. How we can all play together and make music. One happy circle, one happy phamily. This workshop covers the many aspects of group drumming for revels and ritual.

Circle Songs and Chants Presented by Starflower
Come sing together in harmony! Songs from various spirit communities will be shared and sung. Bring paper copies of songs you can teach or want to share. Original songs would be awesome! All ages and singing abilities are welcome. Instruments may be used to accompany the singing.

Toning with Tuning Forks Presented by Starflower
Vibrational healing and sound will be explored and experienced. We will create harmony together and individually using tuning forks and voices. Demonstrations will include various sound healing techniques, including using the vibration of tuning forks on the body. Other types of sound healing work may be included (chimes, metal bowls, drumming, rattling, etc.).

Allianna’s Enchantment Belly Dance
A beginner's belly dance workshop teaching beautiful basic belly dance moves along with the concepts of dance and basic posture. Will teach them to be more open, relaxed, flexible. It will be made fun and simple for ages 9 and up.

Sacred Dance Presented by Jessica Zebrine
Experience the connection of mind, body and spirit through simple movement meditations honoring the lady and Lord. These dances require no previous dance experience and can be done by anyone, regardless of physical ability. Jessica Zebrine is an authorized leader of sacred dance, having taught workshops on three continents and in many states.

Nostradamus and Now Presented by Scarlett Ross
Although he lived over 500 years ago, few men have made such a mark on the topic of telling the future than this 16th Century doctor. We'll explore the history of prognostication, prophecy, and fortune telling along with what it means to us here and now and take a look at how this one man's popularity has impacted the New Age/Pagan movement. Bring your thinking caps because, in order to do this, we'll also have to examine the truth about how this whole predicting the future thing works (or doesn't).

Altaring Your Spaces Big and Small Presented by Scarlett Ross
It's more than a candle, the right incense and a dagger - altars are the much neglected step-child of the Pagan religious practice. We'll discuss ideas for altars big and small, traveling altars for cars, camping, and covens as well as proper care and maintenance of a daily meditation altar that anyone can do.

Kitchen Witchery Presented by Scarlett Ross
Meet a real, live, practicing kitchen witch! we'll explore the path many see but few have discussed and dispel some myths that go along with it. We'll find the kitchen witch inside you and stir the cauldron on a few spells and potions.

Body Goddess Presented by Dawn
Body Goddess is painting the body and pressing the painting into a cloth. It is a representation of the Goddess within. This art will make up the privacy curtain for the Crones' Circle. Crones only, see Ardy. Schedule before Crone Circle, afternoon, at the Deck.

Elemental Tarot workshop Presented by Madame MoJo
A workshop discussing and demonstrating the role of the Elements in tarot reading. Great for the beginner to help get a grasp on the meanings of the cards, and great for the intermediate to add depth to their meanings. Bring your tarot deck, if you have one, but it is not required.

Dance of Life Presented by Gypsy
Early morning greet the new day followed by an introduction to "The Thirteen Original Clan Mothers" by Jamie Sams. Sharing the truth of an ancient feminine wisdom tradition. A new method of honoring and incorporating native feminine wisdom into our daily lives. Each of the Clan Mothers reflects a particular teaching, relates to a cycle of the moon, and possesses special totems, talents and gifts that can help each of us cultivate our own personal gifts and talents. Women Only.

Dance of Life/Animal Totems Presented by Gypsy
A good way to greet the arrival of a new day. Simple steps to acknowledging each of the four directions, drawing the power of the directions and giving it to the earth, to the sky, centering it, then sharing it with the directions. Following is an introduction to types of books and card decks available on the market, a discussion of different animals and what they have to say to us. We are all related. Women Only.

Nature Spirits, Devas, And The Sidhe Presented by Ivo Dominguez, Jr.
This workshop presents a set of theories to explain the nature of both the inhabitants and the realms of Faerie. The immanence and transcendence of nature spirits, devas, and the Sidhe, the Fae, the Shining Ones are examined through the lenses of morphogenetic fields, the holographic universe paradigm, and the Qabala. Our kinship with the Faerie realm will be explored as a natural outgrowth of deep ecology and evolution. This is primarily a metaphysical talk but folklore and mythology will be used to illustrate points or to serve as examples. We will also touch on what this means in regards to the spiritual evolution of both our realms.

The Three Gates Of The Moon Presented by Ivo Dominguez, Jr.
There are many ways to reach or to connect with the powers and places variously named the Moon, the Astral Plane, and Yesod. There are three especially powerful gateways that open into these places and we will explore their locations and their particular qualities. The relationship of these gates to the Lower, Middle, and Upper worlds will be explained as well. This will be done through the teaching of theory and through ritual. Please bring a robe for this class. If you do not have a robe we will loan you one.

The Magick Of The Voice Presented by Ivo Dominguez, Jr.
The voice is perhaps the single most powerful magickal tool that we carry within our bodies. Magick can be spoken, toned, chanted, sung, and uttered as primal sounds. We will begin the workshop by expanding our psychic sense of hearing. Then we will weave back and forth between theory and practical applications. Come well hydrated as you will be using your voice.

Before the Burning Times: Ideas of Witches, Demons and Heretics in the Middle Ages Presented by Skip Clark
This workshop will focus on the ideas of ancient and medieval people that led to the development of the \"witch\" in the 16th and 17th century \"burning times.\" Come prepared with questions, comments and ideas.

Managing your Death Presented by Lena & Suzanne
In light of the recent and on going court battles, let them be a lesson to us all. Lets take the time now, while we can still make decisions, to leave our Death instructions. What ever they may be, get them down in writing. Let others know what they are and how much they mean to you. From the color of the clothes you are to be buried/burnt in, to the music played, to the party given. How do you want your life to be celebrated. Don't leave these decisions for us to make a "loving" guess. You work on managing everything else in your life, it's high time you managed your Death.

Beginning Tarot Presented by Nybor
Nybor will speak from his many years experience as a reader, collector, and designer of Tarot. He will address the following topics:
1. How to select a deck to work with.
2. How to find your personal meanings for the cards.

4. The use of the little booklet that comes with the cards.
The class will close with each person receiving a one-card reading as part of a demonstration of how to read the cards.
