We meet in the courtyard at the popular Viva La Frida cafe in Tampa, Florida every Wednesday at seven PM. The location is about 6 blocks south of Rigo's Eatery at 5901 N Florida Ave. in Tampa, Florida.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Drum Circle participants express themselves collectively by using a chorus of Percussion. Flutes, Shakers, Sticks, and vocals are all recorded to create musical rhythm while having a great time. The internet enables us to share these experiences with everyone.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes
Band History:
Your comments are encouraged and looked forward to as we believe that opinionated contribution and hands-on experience are the best teachers. Christians, Pagans, Taoists, Mormons, Agnostic, and Tibetans … all play their music the same way, it’s all eclectically good! We offer: a sense of community, an introduction to rhythm and percussion technique, health benefits (including stress-reduction), and an outlet for creative musical expression. Besides being a quick and easy way for you to get involved in music-making, DrumTrybe is exciting proof that people entrain to a dominant Drum Circle rhythm, that rhythm is innate, and the dancing and drumming brings it out in people.
Favorite spot?
Fire Circle on a cool dry evening.
Equipment used:
Percussion (Djembe, Ashiko, Conga, Dun Dun, and dumbek). Flutes, Shakers, Sticks (Clave and Ago go) and vocals
