The Dancers Creed

Dancing / Gatherings
Date: Jun 10, 2004 - 02:49 PM
I am a dancer... I do not worship the drum or the drummers, but they help me to connect with something that I find to be profoundly spiritual.

I connect with the Dance in my own way, as many others connect with the Dance in their own way.

The Dance is something that is sacred to me, for it is more than a form of movement, it IS the altar upon which I offer myself.

I will not interfere with other people's dance forms UNLESS someone is in immediate danger

I will not assume that my Dance is more important than another's; I will share the space joyfully with other Dancers.

I will Dance responsibly; if the dance space will not accomodate my form of Dance, then I will refrain from dancing, out of deference to others, trusting that if I am MEANT to Dance, the gods will manifest the space...

I will not force the drum rhythms onto a specific path, but rather let those rhythms grow where spirit Wills.

I am a Dancer and I will seek to constantly allow Spirit to move through me. If it is meant to be, I will connect with others through the Dance, trusting that they will join me on an incredible journey of joyous Surrender...
