Subject: A new take on the Village of 100
You probably have seen the Village of 100 concept in the past. This
is a new take on it. As we prepare to come together in our Village,
perhaps we will all know how very elite we truly are. We celebrate
our spiritual paths mostly without harrassment...and without
violence...if you are reading this you have a computer...we reach out
and hug and touch one another...we are truly blessed!
Blessings,Light and Laughter,
Tyla
Count Your Blessings...
If Earth's population was shrunk into a village of just 100 people --
with
all the human ratios existing in the world still remaining -- what
would
this tiny, diverse village look like? That's exactly what Phillip M.
Harter, a medical doctor at the Stanford University School of
Medicine,
attempted to figure out. This is what he found.
57 would be Asian
21 would be European
14 would be from the Western Hemisphere
8 would be African
52 would be female
48 would be male
70 would be nonwhite
30 would be white
70 would be non-Christian
30 would be Christian
89 would be heterosexual
11 would be homosexual
6 people would possess 59 percent of the entire world's wealth, and
all 6
would be from the United States.
80 would live in substandard housing
70 would be unable to read
50 would suffer from malnutrition
1 would be near death
1 would be pregnant
1 would have a college education
1 would own a computer
The following is an anonymous interpretation:
Think of it this way. If you live in a good home, have plenty to eat
and can
read, you are a member of a very select group.
And if you have a good house, food, can read and have a computer, you
are
among the very elite.
If you woke up this morning with more health than illness... you are
more
fortunate than the million who will not survive this week.
If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of
imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation... you
are
ahead of 500 million people in the world.
If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest,
torture, or death...you are fortunate, more than three billion people
in the
world can't.
If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof
overhead
and a place to sleep...you are richer than 75% of this world.
If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a
dish
someplace ...you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.
If your parents are still alive and still married...you are very
rare, even
in the United States.
If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly
thankful...
you are blessed because the majority can, but most do not.
If you can hold someone's hand, hug them or even touch them on the
shoulder...you are blessed because you can offer healing touch.
If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in
that
someone was thinking of you, and furthermore, you are more blessed
than over
two billion people in the world that cannot read at all.
Count your blessings.
Blessings from Chaplain Danny

In case you have not yet heard about the 13-year-old Pagan girl who
committed suicide last week because
she could not longer take the religious persecution, here is a link to the

Bright Blessings Paul Chase MoonOak and All,
i have printed out her small picture & will wear it with a ribbon or

----------------------------------------------
That is a wonderful idea and tribute, Paul!
Some updated information:
I received communications today from the sister and brother-in-law of
Denessa Smith. The brother-in-law has offered up his email account to
receive messages for the Smith family. The email address is:
bwbarbour@home.com
His name is Barry W. Barbour and Denessa's sister's name is Michelle D.
Smith-Barbour. They both expressed gratitude for the kindness shown to them
from the Pagan communities during this stressful time. Michelle also notes
that since Tempest's death was ruled a suicide, Denessa's insurance policies
will not cover any medical or related costs due to the procedures undertaken
and required in such a death. The TWV Board has voted to send a donation to
Denessa and perhaps some other groups might consider doing some sort of
fund-raising event in memory of Tempest.
On a related note, the reporter, George Hunter, has been printing out all of
the emails that he has received since the story and personally delivering
them to Denessa. This guy is definitely a 'keeper'.
I called Denessa again today and she confirmed the use of her
brother-in-law's email for the purpose of sending messages and condolences.
Walk in Light and Love,
Wren Walker

I thought everyone would enjoy this from another list!
Muldoon's Dog
Muldoon lived alone in the Irish countryside with
only a pet dog for
company. One day the dog died, and Muldoon
approached the parish
priest
saying, "Father, my dog is dead. Could ya' be
sayin' a Mass for the
poor
creature?"
Father Patrick replied, "I'm afraid not lad; we
cannot have services in
the
church for an animal. But there is a new
denomination down the
lane,and
there's no tellin' what they believe. Maybe
they'll do something for
the
creature." Muldoon said, "I'll go right away,
Father. Do ya' think
$5,000
is enough to donate for the service?"
Father Patrick exclaimed, "Sweet Mary, Mother of
Jesus! Why didn't ya'
tell me the dog was Catholic?"

I understand how seriously this could effect us all. When I read a
couple articles stating this, I was taken aback. I couldn't believe
that the US Postal service is trying to perpetrate the idea that they
are losing thousands over this. They say the average person recieves
10 emails a day. Even so, may I ask you, if you had no computer,
would you write just a snippet to a friend and waste the stamp? How
many of your e-mails do you believe woould have been sent to you via
snail mail? Prob not a quarter of them. The Postal Service is just
getting their undies in a twist because they see $$$$$$$$$...where
there actually is none.
And also, I know it's hard to distinguish who tells the truth, but I
have read things from "desks" of Congressmen, which deny this whole
thing. I live in Tallahassee, and from what I can gather here, this
bill is a farce. Now, I am not suggesting that a cease fire be
called. However, before we get all in a tizzy, we need to find the
truth behind this shrouded issue. I am impatient that Tuesday is
not here yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Brazilian congress is now voting on a project that
will reduce the
Amazon forest to 50% of its size. It will take 1 min
to read. Please put your names on the list and forward
this on.
YOU MAY HAVE SEEN THAT GREENPEACE IS TODAY
BOYCOTTINGHARDWOOD FROM THEREGION
The area to be deforested is 4 times the size
ofPortugal and would be
mainly used for agriculture and pastures forlivestock.
All the wood isto
be sold to international markets in the form of
woodchips, bymultinational
companies. The truth is that the soil in the Amazon
forest isuseless without the
forest itself. Its quality is very acidic and
theregion is prone to
constant floods. At this time more than 160.000
squarekilometres
deforested with the same purpose are abandoned and
inthe process of
becoming deserts. Deforestation (and the
subsequentprocessing of the
woodchips) on this scale will also release a
hugeamount of carbon(which
is currently locked up in the wood) back into
theatmosphere worseningthe
problem of climate change. We cannot let this happen.
